Windows 10 Fast Startup Causing Hamachi Peers to have Yellow Triangle Icon

tl;dr

Restarting the Windows 10 system and Hamachi works fine. Shutdown, then power the system back on, and Hamachi was not working. Disabled Windows 10 Fast Startup and Hamachi started working properly again.

The Problem

Four (4) Windows 10 machines all have the following same behavior. This problem started at the end of last week. Been running Hamachi on about 20 computers since 2013 on a Premium Network. Updated these computers to Windows 10 around January 2016 and everything was fine until last week.

Install / reinstall Hamachi and everything works. Rebooting laptop and Hamachi starts back up perfectly. Shows all the Peers in the list and everything runs perfect. Until...

If I shut the computer down. Then booting it back up after a shutdown, and the peers all show in the list with their IPs as online, with the green circle to the left. However, to the right of each Peer name there is the yellow triangle with exclamation point. It appears I'm connected to the network and Hamachi shows my IP address. The problem detail for the yellow icon says "failed to configure Hamachi network adapter." The adapter status shows no IP address, Subnet Mask, or DHCP server. I can reinstall Hamachi while it is running and everything starts working again. Reboot several times and Hamachi continues to work. As soon as I shut down and boot the system back up. Hamachi looks like it's running, but the yellow triangles with exclamation point appears next to each node name.

The Solutions Tried and Failed

Over the last several days I tried some different things, but all attempts had the same problems with the shutdown and power on.

  1. Reinstall while Hamachi was running.
  2. Uninstall and keep settings. Reboot. Reinstall.
  3. Uninstall delete settings. Reboot. Reinstall. Rejoin Network.
  4. Set the Logmein Hamachi Tunneling Service to Delayed Automatic Start with two restart attempts.
  5. Verified ports in the firewall were not blocked. As this was only four of twenty machines and that the problem only existed after a shutdown, I doubted this was the problem.
  6. Verified AntiVirus wasn't blocking a Hamachi service from starting. All twenty laptops have the same AV. Removed AV to verify it wasn't the AV causing the problems. Verified AV was patched to latest.
  7. Verified Hamachi was on the latest version, all Windows 10 updates were installed, and all system drivers were up to date.

I was typing this up to see if anyone else in the community had this issue when I thought to check the Win 10 Fast startup. Sure enough these four computers with the Hamachi Shutdown and boot up problems had the Windows 10 "Fast Startup" enabled. The other sixteen laptops already had fast startup disabled. Disabled Fast Startup on the four laptops and Hamachi started working perfectly again.

So this issue isn't one I can seem to find on Google or anything as it's a all or nothing type of deal there. My issue is that when I use Hamachi I have a couple people connected to me to play Minecraft. One friend has zero issues whatsoever, but my girlfriend, who is sitting right next to me has issues STAYING connected. She would ping me and every so often there are bouts of lost packets that would cause her to disconnect whereas my other friend is doing just fine. I had her try connecting though a LAN connection for Minecraft and it still does it.

This confuses me greatly as I'm not sure where the issue lies. If I shut off my firewall, the issue persists. Shut off hers and same thing. Both firewalls on and once again it's the same issue. Going off that, I ASSUME it's the router, but I fail to see how or where because the friend who isn't even in the same state is able to connect but my girlfriend who is in the same house can't stay connected whether going through Wireless LAN or Hamachi.

I am running windows 7. Hamachi is not showing up under network connections.

I had this on four of my Win 10 laptops out of twenty laptops. One diagnostics error would show VPN domain's tap device is down. When this problem occured the Hamachi Network Adapter Status would show nothing for IP or Subnet Mask. I could reinstall hamachi and it would be fine between reboots, but when shutting Win 10 down it would fail on the next power on. I went down the rabbit hole trying a ton of different soltuions. Turns out Windows 10 Fast Startup was enabled on the four laptops that had this problem. The other 16 laptops already had fast startup disabled. Turned it off on those four and now they are running Hamachi fine. Give it a try.

Vulnerability (read necessarily)

I tried to write in support but can only write in the sales department, where the comment field is limited to 100 characters.

I read reviews and realized that my problem is massive.
1) Unsubscribe from the service problematic
2) The cost of services is growing every year
3) Written off money not return
4) Seek to go, especially if you're not from a country where there is an office.

This is my appeal, is forced to leave here:

October 4th, you have written off my personal card 515 euros. Please return this money to the card.

My login dbol@****.ru. I tried to recover the password but it does not work. I can not log in to your account. I wrote to you but you did not answer.
I do not use your services with 6.17.15. But you nevertheless write off money from me.
I am begging you:
1) Cancel my subscription.
2) Give me back payment of 515 euros.
At this point, I was forced to block the card, but it is available for a refund. In some reviews it stated that the money written off, even with the new card. Therefore, I will be forced to abandon the bank.

If you are I will not be forced to respond
1) Apply for fraud
2) Spend as much time and as much money as I have lost from your company for placement and promotion of truthful information about the experience of working with you. At 515 euros in Russia can be booked at least 2000 reviews of placements on the Internet.

Hamachi and Minecraft error

$

Hello everyone.

I have recently had my computer reset due to a failed hard drive and reinstalled many features such as Hamachi, video games, apps, etc, but I am dealing with a new error with Hamachi involving hosting a minecraft server. Now I know this is not a Minecraft help support but my error is not with minecraft but with Hamachi. I had in the past on this same computer, ran a Hamachi based minecraft server with no issues at all but now when I host it with my Hamachi Ipv4 it tells me I can not bind to port. If I take out my Hamachi Ipv4 the server starts up no problem but no one can connect to it. I have also tried allowing Hamachi through my firewall but that did not work. I have tested to see if the port Minecraft uses, 25565 is online and according to canyouseeme.org it is not online due to connection timeout so I thought okay this is not working or this is a unsupported port. Anyhow I have tried tons of things, like I said firewall access with both Hamachi, Minecraft and Java, adding ports and stuff and all have had no success, the server still says "Failed to bind to port 25565"

My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate with 8 GB ram and 64 Bit system.

If anyone can help me out I would very much appreciate it, I loved using hamachi but this glitch or error is really annoying me as I can not find the soultion and searched almost everywhere and created a fourm post on the Minecraftfourms. Thank you.

About 1/3 of your actual speed. Which is very low compared to other VPN solutions.

If I remember there is no speed cap. Relay is not - at least in my opinion - faster if you have a paid plan.

Installing Hamachi onto a Domain Controller

Hamachi disabled network cards on the domain controller. Is this usual?

I have taken it off. I am looking to extend my domain offsite.

Does Hamachi have to be on the Domain Controller, I also have an exchange server that is on the domain.

We are a local charity and need a VPN at little cost.

Thanks,

Malky

I don't know about windows 7 because I now have windows 10 & I was experiancing this exact same problem for the last few days having installed it recently. When installing & it loaded up. It shows I'm connected to my host server which is running fine on windows 10. But when I reboot my system or turn off for the night & turn it on next day. I get the yellow triangle with this exact same error.

I stop & restart the hamachi service which fixes it while I'm on the computer. But as soon as I need to reboot or turn off. When I come back to it it's back every time.

Now. I've found a fix for myself which might be a fix for windows 7 also. On windows 10, I went into windows firewall settings. Allow app through firewall or just search allow an app through windows firewall. Then click on Change settings to enable to options below. If Hamachi isn't in the list which mine wasnt. Click on Allow another app. Go into hamachi install folder. First add the hamachi-2-ui.exe in the x64 folder & then in the first folder. Select both Public & private box's for both & click apply.

I've rebooted several times & no VPN errors!

Hope this helps

hello
