Outlook cannot connect to Exchange server even though it isn't connected through Himachi

I use Himachi solely to connect InFlow Inventory client and server. The server is a laptop running W10 at work while the client is a PC running W10 at home. Outlook does not run through the VPN. I have 4 email accounts setup in Outlook (2016); 1 hotmail, 1 gmail and 2 Exchange. Both the hotmail and gmail sychronize without an issue, but the Exchange emails remain disconnected from the server. I had this identical problem a month ago when I initially installed Himachi. Then it happened on the laptop but this time the laptop is fine and the PC is affected. Even if I power off the VPN the problem remains. The only way I have fixed it is by uninstalling Himachi, but its the best VPN solution I have found for InFlow inventory and I want to keep it.

What could be causing this and how can I resolve it?

 

Note: When I restart the PC and quickly open Outlook it will connect to Exchange breifly, partially syncronize and then disconnect once Himachi connects.
