Hello,
I am trying to use the latest version of Hamachi, i.e. v2.2.0.607 to setup a gateway network with 2 Windows 7 PCs as clients. One of the PCs is the gateway. The other PC can reach the gateway and that part all works fine.
The gateway is connected to the Internet via a wireless network connection. I need for the client PC to reach the gateway’s wired network interface and network that it is connected to. This is where I am having problems.
I have reached out to Logmein tech support over the phone but they have not been able to offer any help with this. I have found old postings online that talk of needing to edit the h2-engine.cfg file and adding static routes. I have tried all of that and it still does not work. I am guessing that perhaps with the current version of Hamachi, one does not need to add routes manually or edit the config file but am not sure. Can someone here please give me some pointers on exactly what I need to do
Here are some details on my setup:
Client PC1
Client PC2 (gateway)
Wifi connects to internet
LAN is 192.168.11.1
I have added 192.168.11.0/255.255.255.0 as a remote network under gateway settings.
A few specific connections:
- Does one need TCPIP v6 enabled for this to all work on both PCs? I have tried with and without and still no go.
- Does the LAN on the gateway need to be part of the Hamachi bridge? If I do this, then from the gateway PC itself, I cannot ping 192.168.11.1 so I do not have it as part of the bridge.
- Does one need to still edit the h2 engine cfg file and/or add routes manually?
Have been hitting my head against this for a while. The whole idea behind the gateway network based on its description is that this should be doable. Unfortunately the how part eludes me and I am hoping someone here that has done this can shed some light.
Thanks,
