I’m an IT student and working on a cloud solution fora group project. My group’s proof of concept involves a Windows Server 2012 VM on Azure, and we have tried using Hamatchi as a VPN solution to connect our on prem client machines to the Azure domain controller. After configuring our DNS on the client machines we have been able to join the domain but after the restart the client cannot connect to the domain login service.
Doing some research I found an old news posting from LogMeIn in 2012 discussing changes to Hamachi indicating that the Hamachi UI won’t start unless you are a paying user. As this information is dated and there seems to be little information about the differences between the paid and free Hatachi service on the website, I would love some clarification if Hamachi service starts at Windows startup before purchasing a subscription.
