Re: Terraria servers

Output configure to Internet from Hamachi by a specific network card.

On my server, I have two network cards.

I have installed Hamachi and it output to Internet is from teh first network card because is the only one connected at the modem.

I pretend to conect the second service of Internet on the second network card and I want to indicate to Hamachi that it output and input to Internet it's going to be exclusively from this second network card.

Could you tell me, how to do this?

Slow file tranfers between workgroup computers when Hamachi is running

Hello:

I run three Windows 10 computers in a workgroup over ethernet gigabiit LAN and each runs the Hamachi client.  I observe very slow file transfer speeds over the LAN when the Hamachi client is running (adapter enabled, client online, service running).  It looks as though whenever the Hiamachi client is running the transfer speeds are reduced to only 10 MBps on the gigabit LAN.  If I put the Hamachi client offline the speeds jump up to over 100 MBps, which is expected.  This behavior was not seen on our Windows XP computers (which we really miss by the way !!)

At this point I'm stumped.  One poster had the same issue but no one responded to his message:

/t5/Hamachi/How-to-fix-slow-LAN-transfer-speed/m-p/131578#M13076

Why does my workgroup speed default to the slower Hamachi 10/100 speed?  Is there a workaround?

One poster named Sean K made a statement that "if you are already on a LAN, the Hamachi connection is completely pointless".

/t5/Hamachi/Is-1000-Mbps-possible/td-p/90403

(Sean, we run Hamachi over the LAN so we can access the computers from over the WAN).

I hope there is a fix.  The Hamachi client should run full time without interfering with and reducing the speed of the ethernet gigabit LAN.

Thanks in advance for all responses.

Martin

Wow, what a sleepy support forum !  There is no activity here.  Waiting for a networking guru to chime in and help fix this problem !!

Did some digging around and found out that the Adapters and Bindings dialog is broken, inop, in Windows 10.  The big question is whether this is a bug in Windows 10 or the new normal.  See this example HERE.   Pretty obvious these adapters are out of the order I would prefer.  The adapter order can be moved up or down with the arrows on the right, but the changes don't persist and default back after closing the dialog.  Hamachi should definitely be number two in the list.

I've also tried the "Set-NetIPInterface -InterfaceAlias Hamachi -InterfaceMetric 20" command in Powershell, yet Hamachi pays no attention to this setting which should give my ethernet priority.  See http://tinyurl.com/qeettxy

Those with an eye for detail will notice that the latest update 2.2.0.406 installs the adapter with a metric of 9000, which is pointless if Windows 10 is not going to recognize it.

So far putting Hamachi offline is the only solution.  Kind of defeats the whole purpose of the VPN, ya think?

I am having the same trouble since I switched to Windows 10, the only additional info is that I am running Norton 360, but I also made sure Hamachi is on the list for firewall access

So turns out when he said he had reinstalled, he meant -before- he upgraded to Windows 10 (where as I did afterwards)

It would seem that in the upgrade process something messes up with the firewall. We fixed this issue by him clean reinstalling Hamachi once again after he had been upgraded to Windows 10

Hope this helps!

Someone from the LogMeIn support gave me the solution. Here it is:

Why does my internet connection fail when Hamachi is enabled?

After installing Hamachi you may encounter connectivity issues due to connection Metrics.  Windows uses Metrics to determine the order it will attempt to acquire internet access.  The Hamachi adapter may be auto assigned a lower Metric than the adapter that provides your internet connection.  You will need to manually assign the Metric to resolve.

To manually assign a Metric:

Windows XP
  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Go into Network Connections.
  3. Right Click on the Hamachi adapter, and click Properties.
  4. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and click the Properties button.
In a 64bit OS, it will be listed as Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
  5. Now choose the Advanced button.
  6. At the bottom of this page, uncheck the box labeled Automatic Metric, and enter 9000 as the Interface Metric.
Windows Vista
  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Go into Network and Sharing Center.
  3. In the left pane, click Manage network connections.
  4. Right Click on the Hamachi adapter, and click Properties.
  5. Highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and click the Properties button.
In a 64 bit OS, it will be listed as Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
  6. Now choose the Advanced button.
  7. At the bottom of this page, uncheck the box labeled Automatic Metric, and enter 9000 as the Interface Metric.
Windows 7
  1. Open the Control Panel.
  2. Click into Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.
  3. Click Change adapter settings on the left pane.
  4. Right-click on the Hamachi adapter, and click Properties.
  5. Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to highlight it, and click Properties.
In a 64-bit OS, it is listed as Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
  6. Click Advanced.
  7. At the bottom of this page, uncheck the Automatic metric option, and enter 9000 into the Interface metricfield.

Performing the above steps will assign Hamachi a very high metric, making it the very last thing Windows use to attempt an internet connection.  If that does not resolve it, perform the same steps on the adapter you want your internet connection to be on, but assign it a 100 metric.

Hi Leawyvern,

1. Which version of Hamachi are you trying to install? Did you have a previous version installed? If yes, which?

2. Which OS are you trying to install it to?

3. Please send the logfile C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\LogMeIn Hamachi\h2-engine.log to hamachi-feedback@logmein.com

Regards,

DVZs

Friend Can't Connect to Game and Also lots of errors.

I can't ping him, when I diagnosis him I get:

Tunnel: OK

Local results:
Adapter configuration: OK
Traffic test: Inbound traffic blocked, check firewall settings
Peer results: [189-689-694]
Adapter configuration:
Cannot get adapter config
Traffic test: Cannot complete test

If he clicks the yellow triangle he it says there's a tunneling problem and if he keeps clicking more details he gets network adapter error. If he runs as an admin while the service Hamachi Tunneling Engine is stopped he gets a diagnosis saying that the hamachi service has stopped (which makes sense) and that all required files are found but for the Driver it says the Hamachi client needs to be reinstalled. If he clicks details, he gets 'inconsistent timestamp'. We're tried restarting, uninstalling and various other things but nothing has worked. Also I (the network owner) can connect and play with other people so I don't think it's a problem on my side.

We're both using Windows 7 and probably the latest version of Hamachi since we both re-installed.

Any help?

Based on your log file it seems there is a stuck device named Hamachi.

You should remove/uninstall all Hamachi related network devices from your Device Manager (check "Delete the driver software for this device" if shown) and then try installing Hamachi.
