We have been using hamachi for a couple years without issue (for the most part). Remote users use hamachi to access internal shares on a Windows Server 2012 r2 domain/file server. Each remote users laptop is connected to the internal domain.
In the last week, all remote users cannot connect to the internal server shares, windows prompts for username/password. It does not matter what username/password we type in it will not authenticate. We use domain\username in username field...does not work. We have also just tried username\password...does not work. We have tried other usernames...does not work...even a username with admin privedges.
Hamachi can always ping between hub and spokes.
Current setup is:
Windows Server 2012 R2 (no patches installed in last month)
Windows firewall is disabled
No local A/V installed
Hamachi is already latest version
Client computers vary from Windows 7 64 bit to Windows 10 64 bit:
A/V installed
Firewall enabled
Hamachi latest version
We have not seen anything blocked on client computers in A/V or firewalls.
We have tried uninstalling/reinstalling Hamachi.
We had a remote user bing in their laptop and it worked fine accessing shares when connected to the internal network (both via local ip of server and hamachi ip of server)...there was no username/password prompt.
We installed Hamachi on a computer not joined to the domain and it was unable to authenticate with hamachi share (using know good domain username/password).
Kinda at a loss here...any guidance would be appreciated :)
